Hey friends! I've been at it again. The world beckoned, and I answered the call, in the middle of a pandemic no less. I have a new resort that I want to tell you about. In September, I traveled to Casa de Campo Resort & Villas located in La Romana, which is on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic. This 7000 acre property was luxurious & totally unexpected, and I think you're going to love it as much as I did.
As you may know, I am big on continuing education and learning all that I can to be the best travel agent for my clients. As a recent graduate from the Destination Wedding University, I was able to join a select group of travel agents on a retreat to get first hand experience with destination weddings, see & participate in the behind-the-scenes activities for planning weddings & events in destination and to become a certified Weddings & Celebration Specialist at Casa de Campo Resort & Villas.
I couldn't have chosen a better trip to embark on during this very crucial time. It was the perfect place to enjoy yourself while maintaining social distancing guidelines & protocols. Here are my top four (4) highlights and why I believe this 4-in-1vacation is the perfect destination. And if you've been waiting with bated breath for Europe to re-open to US travelers, then this place is the perfect getaway to fulfill your needs.
The first thing I saw, that made me think, Holy biscuits, this place is amazing was Altos de Chavon! It is a true readers, writers, and photographers paradise. The type of place you'd travel to for inspiration, relaxation, a romantic getaway, or a picture perfect backdrop for a wedding or celebration.
Catching the sunrise at Altos de Chavon was one of the best experiences. If you're following me on Instagram or Facebook you know that chasing sunrises and sunsets when I'm traveling is one of my passions. Altos de Chavon is not in walking distance from the resort side, plus I'm directionally impaired (lol) so what happened next was priceless. Although the guest receive golf carts to maneuver around the 7,000 acre property, it was greatly appreciated that the concierge scheduled for a driver to pick me up at 4:30 am (free of charge) and return to pick me up within 2-hours so that I can enjoy & capture some amazing photos. When I say they exceeded expectations, this is no exaggeration.
The coolest thing I did during my stay, was of course my favorite, horseback riding. Casa de Campo has their own equestrian ranch and polo field. If you don't know how to ride, have no fear, a trainer is available to teach and guide you. The best part is, if you have the all-inclusive package, you get unlimited chances to go horseback riding and maybe even make a new horse friend. But if horseback riding isn't your thing, you can always enjoy a couple of holes on their award winning golf courses (Teeth of the Dog, The Links, or Dye Fore). These are perfect activities for individuals, couples or groups. If you're there for a destination wedding, the ladies can saddle up, while the men grab their golf clubs.
Lastly, aside from having one of the most prestigious marinas in the Caribbean and a newly designed Beach Club at Playa Minitas which boasts several pools, including an infinity pool, I'd have to say that Catalina Island was my favorite area to enjoy the water. I'm personally not a fan of sand, but who could deny this white sandy beach & crystal clear waters. You'll need to catch a Catamaran (additional charge) over, but the ride is so relaxing and as you traverse through the ocean, you will feel like you have been transported to another popular island (Bora Bora). So, if you're looking for Bora Bora or the Maldives ocean feel, Casa de Campo is a much closer and less expensive option. Reservations are required and the island can be rented for private events.
This destination is perfect for special occasions and group travel of all sizes. Whether it's a family vacation, girls or guys getaway (thinking bachelorette or bachelors party), family reunion or destination wedding, this venue has something for everyone. From the Miami vibes, Caribbean feels, Mediterranean style village, to the dude ranch experience, there truly is something for everyone.
If you follow me, you know I love to travel (travel addict here). But it's also important for me as a top-tier travel agent to be able to recommend places that I have personally stayed at. I am able to create extraordinary experiences for you, because I know the unique features of each place and can anticipate how a resort will align with what you are looking for.
Casa de Campo Resort & Villas offers picturesque views & destinations within their property, mouthwatering food (take it from me, I'm a picky eater), and luxury so grand the rich & famous call it home - and I know you're going to want to try it for yourself. You can see more gorgeous travel pics & follow my journey on Instagram or Facebook. If you want to see more photos of Casa de Campo, you can also check out my photo album on my website.
See you on the next adventure!
